Malnutrition should be eradicated : Dhawade

As per the instructions of Chhattisgarh Government, District Collector Shyam Dhawade, has taken a serious crusade towards the better operation of nutrition campaign in the district and the efforts being made in the direction is being closely monitored by the Collector.
On the instructions of the Collector, the government’s ready-to-eat supplementary nutritional food, prepared by the Food Security Department, was sent for inspection and in this sequence, in compliance with the instructions to check the quality and purity of Chief Minister’s Shishu Shakti Supplemental Nutritional Food (Ready-to-Eat-Food) manufactured by women’s groups and being supplied through Anganwadi, samples of ready-to-eat food from two Anganwadi centers of Baikunthpur, Mahalpara were collected and sent to the designated laboratory for examination, to be scrutinized under the provisions of Food Safety and Standards Act.
Giving the above information, Assistant Director, Food Security Department, Mr. Sagar Dutta said that after the inquiry report, legal action would be taken against the women’s group concerned, if the packets are not found to be as per the standards of nutrition and food safety. He said that the Food Security Department is continuing the process of checking all the Anganwadi Centers and Supplementary Nutritional Food Manufacturing Groups in the district and collecting and sending samples of ready-to-eat food manufactured by them for analysis.
