Raipur, Oct 21:
Celebrating the nine auspicious days of Navratri and praying to Goddess Durga, for strength and power, is what we all practise. But, how about making the Durga of the house, self-reliant and powerful? Women of the state proved their strength amid Covid-19 pandemic by being the frontline corona warriors and fighting the pandemic strong in its face. From the Anganwadi workers, to bank Sakhi’s, to Mitanin, to health workers reaching the most remote regions to create awareness, to women of the various self help groups engaged in the manufacturing of masks and sanitizers, they proved that Durga is present in every woman herself.
To empower women of the state, The State Rural Livelihoods Mission (Bihaan) is working on several dimensions to strengthen women. The Government of Chhattisgarh led by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, is constantly engaged in providing training and financial assistance to start self-employment to make women socially and economically strong and self-reliant, besides providing their products from door-to-door.
The women of Self-help groups are being provided with space and resources for self-employment in multi-utility centres and Gothans. Women of the state are getting employed in a large number of jobs due to various activities conducted by Bihaan. With the increase in income, the financial condition of the family is improving, which is thereby leading to better upbringing and education of their children.
