Make an action plan to fully computerize cooperative banks, societies: Chandrakar

Raipur, Sep 30: Chairman of Chhattisgarh Apex Bank and newly appointed Director of National Federation of State Co-operative Banks Limited (NAFSCAB) Mr. Baijnath Chandrakar has instructed the officers to prepare an action plan to computerize the working of cooperative banks and cooperative societies. He said that many welfare schemes are being run by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in the interest of farmers. Under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, payment of the amount of input subsidy for all Kharif crops, horticulture crops as well as the procurement amount of paddy, kodo-kutki, ragi etc. is being given to the farmers online. In view of this, the work of cooperative banks and societies to be computerized like other banks is the need of the hour and necessary. Chandrakar has also asked the officials to implement the action plan immediately, so that the farmers can be given their due amount without any delay. Chairman Chandrakar has asked to develop such a system of transfer of money in cooperative banks and societies so that farmers get convenience and they do not have to go round the banks and societies.
Emphasis has been laid on developing a system to enable them to get online information about materials such as fertilizers, seeds etc. in the form of input assistance provided to farmers through committees. He has also directed to train the officers and employees of banks and societies so that they can discharge their duties efficiently without any error. Chairman of Apex Bank, Mr. Chandrakar has said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, the schemes and programs run by the state government in agriculture and cooperative sectors for the betterment of farmers are being appreciated in the country and other states.
Many states of the country are moving towards implementing farmer friendly policies of Chhattisgarh government in their states. He also directed the officers of the Cooperation Department to study the functioning of other states in the interest of the farmers and prepare a report to be implemented in the state if they are found favorable to the farmers of Chhattisgarh. He said that the basic objective of cooperative banks and societies is to help the farmers and get benefits of government schemes and programs. He said that being the operator of the National Federation of State Co-operative Banks Limited (NAFSCAB), I am working on my behalf for the betterment of the tribals, women, agricultural laborers and farmers of the state through national organizations like NAFSCAB, NABARD, NCDC and NAFED.
I will do everything possible to benefit from it. The office bearers and officers welcomed and congratulated him for the new responsibility. It is worth mentioning that the Chairman of Chhattisgarh Apex Bank, Mr. Chandrakar was elected as the National Director in the meeting of NAFSCAB held in Mumbai recently. Chhattisgarh has got strong representation in the field of cooperatives at the national level due to the appointment of Mr. Chandrakar. This will give a new direction and momentum to the cooperative movement at the national level, as well as it will be easier to solve the problems of cooperatives at the national level.
