Loan waiver benefits also for non-performing farmers

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel-led Congress government on Wednesday decided to provide the benefits of agriculture loan waiver to farmers who missed the previous sops on grounds of non-performing accounts.
As per the decision taken at the meeting of state cabinet here, state government would share the burden o 50% of the above amount which amounts to nearly Rs 1175 crore. With the above decision, these non performing account holders too would become eligible for agriculture loan in future.
In another significant decision taken at the cabinet meeting, the state government would provide subsidized rice at Rs 10 per kg to the Ration Card holders from the Above Poverty Line (APL) also which would benefit all the 65 lakh families in Chhattisgarh. With the above decision, the Income Tax payee too would be able to get new Ration Card. Existing Ration Card holders would continue to get subsided rice on present Ration Card till the making of fresh Cards.
It is notable that the Congress in the election manifesto had come with the promise to provide subsidized rice to every family whereas the loan waiver to agriculture farmers were also promised. With the above decision of state cabinet, the Congress regime has started implementation of the election manifesto.

RTE expanded till Class XII
State Cabinet has expanded the facility of Right to Education and now the students from Class IX to XII would also get benefits of the scheme providing free education and text books which was for the students upto class VIII in Chhattisgarh. Similarly, a committee would be constituted to look into complaints related with admission fees in non-government schools and would also address the anomalies in the school education system.

Other important decisions taken by Cabinet
1. Cabinet gave approval to one of the case related with the political movement. Committee headed by the Home Minister had come up with the recommendations with the Cabinet. All the District Collectors and Superintendents of Police (SPs) have been directed to take steps for withdrawal of cases related with all the political parties.
2. Govt would procure sugar from the c-operative Sugar factories of state for the distribution of sugar through Public Distribution System. Presently the procurement is being made from open market but with the above decision taken by Cabinet, stock of sugar stored in co-operative sugar factories would be used with the objective to strengthen the sector.
3. Decision has been taken to constitute Cabinet sub-committee to bring about improvement in the paddy procurement and custom milling policy.
4. “Nava Raipur” would be incorporated before the Atal Nagar, Atal Nagar Development Authority and Atal Smart City Corporation.
