Raipur, Apr 10: Giving attention on the election-bound Chhattisgarh, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to hold one-to-one talks with the Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) from Bharatiya Janata Party on April 11.
Through the BJP Chhattisgarh Legislative Party Secretary, the MLAs have been informed about the proposed telephonic talks from the party icon on Tuesday. MLAs have been put into alert to remain within Mobile Coverage area from 11 o’clock in the morning as the Prime Minister Modi can choose any MLA for interaction on key issues ahead of his proposed visit to Chhattisgarh on April 14. Secretary of BJP Legislative Party Jitendra Verma has informed the MLAs through official letter addressed to them in which it has been specifically mentioned that they have to remain in Mobile Coverage area so that PM Narendra Modi can have a direct talk with them.
Move of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to hold talks with the MLAs, holds significance amidst reported unrest brewing among people against them. Although the agenda of talks is yet to be known, it is learnt that the MLAs, battling hard for their political survival ahead of the next Legislative Assembly, might be given key inputs to improve their image as well as of party when PM interacts with them. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to launch his ambitious Ayushman Health Scheme (propagated as Modi-Care) on April 14 from tribal-dominated Bijapur, the message is clear from the BJP high command that they have their own style of governance and methods to win favour from the people ahead of the next Legislative Assembly elections. But the entire act has brought the MLAs into tenterhooks who have been reported low in confidence to face the public in next elections as well as to have one-to-one talks with their leader Narendra Modi who has a towering stature in the country. Top BJP leaders too are taken aback with the above move of Prime Minister to have a telephonic talks with the MLAs on Wednesday afternoon.
