Left parties to stage protest against rising inflation on 26th

Raipur, Jun 22: Left parties have decided to stage demonstration on June 26 in Chhattisgarh to protest against rising inflation and demand for COVID relief. Solidarity will also be expressed on this day, with the nationwide movement of labourers-farmers against the anti-farmer laws and four labour codes. Demand would be raised to frame law to give one and a half times the minimum support price of C-2 cost.
This information was given by Sanjay Parate, State Secretary of Communist Party of India Marxist, RDCP Rao of CPI and Brijendra Tiwari of CPI(ML)-Liberation. They said that the inflation growth rate was running above 10% and it broke the record of last 25 years. Food products have become expensive and hunger has increased. Rising prices of petrol and diesel are compounding problem of rising inflation. They alleged that the Modi government at the centre was not making any efforts to control inflation.
The Left leaders said that the corona pandemic spoiled life and deprived many people of livelihood. The economy has gone into recession due to lack of demand. To overcome this situation, the general public needs free food grains and cash help, they said. But the Modi government is not only denying this, but is also refusing to provide assistance of Rs four lakh to the families of the victims of this pandemic under the Central Disaster Management Act. According to them poor health system caused more deaths than Corona. Central government should take the responsibility of such deaths, they said.
Left parties are running nationwide drive in support of the demand for taking measures to control the prices of essential commodities including petrol and diesel and check black marketing and hoarding, provide free ration kits including 10 kg of food grains per person, to all poor families, provide cash assistance of Rs 7500 per month to all families outside the income tax net and financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh to families of those died due to Corona, under Disaster Management Act. The left leaders said that demonstration would be staged in the entire state while following COVID
protocol.
