Last rites of martyr performed with state honours

Bhanupratappur, Mar 24: Devkaran Dehari(31), one of the five jawans who died in IED blast triggered by naxals in Kanhargaon in Narayanpur district, was performed with full state honours. The martyr was from Podgaon in Antargarh under Kanker district, The martyr’s body wrapped in tri-colour was brought under tight security from Narayanpur to his native village Podgaon Road at 11 am Wednesday. On reaching Podgaon, the people of the village gathered at the main square of the village and showered flowers on the vehicle carrying transport the body of the martyr.
Antagarh MLA Anup Nag, former MLA Manturam Pawar, Nagar Panchayat President Radhelal Nag Vice President Amal Singh Narwas and all the politicians of the area, people of the villagers paid homage to the martyr Devkaran at his home and all of them, including the martyr’s parents, brother and his fiancée family.
At 12:30, the funeral procession was taken from his residence to Muktidham in Podgaon with the dead body of the martyr in which MLA Anup Nag was also present, apart from this, Manturam Pawar Radhe Lal Nag Amal Narvas was also present in this last journey.
After the final guard of honor, the martyr Devkaran’s father Vijay Singh lit the pyre of his middle son Devkaran with a moist eye, according to custom.
Martyr Devkaran was very happy about the preparations for his matrimonial program starting on 20 April and he had come to his home in Podgaon a week before for marriage preparations Stating that the marriage of his brother Devkaran was fixed in Khauli village of Amabeda Dhanora, the wedding cards had also started to be printed.
31-year-old martyr Karan Dehari’s brother Romnath said that Devkaran completed his studies up to 12th standard while staying in Narayanpur’s Vivekananda Ashram. He used to drive private vehicles and later he opted for police service in 2006-07, the martyr’s father Vijay Singh Dehari is 72 years old, who was formerly working as a peon in Kodagav School, the same martyr’s mother Bhano Bai, who is a domestic woman, both of them are old and now work at home and do farming, the whole family was very excited about the marriage of their son Devkaran, but now their enthusiasm has turned into mourning.
