Joint Director appreciates Godhan Nyay Yojna implementation in Bhilai

Bhilai, June 09: On Wednesday, Urban Administration Joint Director SK Dubey inspected the implementation of Godhan Nyay Yojna in the limits of Bhilai Municipal Corporation. He visited the cow dung purchase centres and witnessed the process of making vermin compost and super compost.
He appreciated the innovative ideas being applied by BMC at these centres. After discussing the issues with the women of the self help group, he instructed to increase the production of manures by expediting the process of making vermi compost. He visited the cow dung purchase centres in Baikunthdham and Khursipar. In view of the increased intake of cow dung, he asked to expedite the process by putting vermi in the compost pit.
He instructed to take care of earthworms, improve the arrangement of site for green bed for vermi compost, proper use of vermi compost and procured cow dung; good quality vermi compost from the roaster system, proper use of slurry collection, promotion of earthworm rearing, etc.
Ashok Dwivedi, Deputy Commissioner of Bhilai Municipal Corporation informed that the Joint Director reviewed the implementation of Godhan Nyay Yojna. He took feedback from the women of the self help group about the method of making vermi compost and instructed to make super compost from the cow dung kept in the open. In the dung procurement center of Urban Gothan and Khursipar, super compost has been prepared from the remaining cow dung. Joint Director appreciated the quality of super compost and asked to get it examined in the laboratory. Zone 2 Commissioner Pooja Pillai, PIU’s Harish Thakur, Abhinav Thokne and Shubham Patni were present during the inspection.
It is worth mentioning that the government’s ambitious Godhan Nyay Yojana is being implemented by the Bhilai Municipal Corporation in the best possible manner. Under the guidance of Collector Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure and BMC Commissioner Rituraj Raghuvanshi, 338.7 quintals of good quality vermin compost has been prepared and sold. The women of the Self Help Group have also earned Rs 149115 net profit by preparing vermi compost at very low cost. Women adopted innovation to prepare other products from cow dung, as a result of which they generated a lot of revenue by making cow dung cakes and selling them.
Apart from this, significant income was generated from the sale of lamps, idols, pots, statues etc. For the successful implementation of Godhan Nyay Yojana, Municipal Commissioner Rituraj Raghuvanshi has encouraged women by inspecting Godhan centers regularly, as a result of which women are becoming self-reliant.
