IT raids house, plant of Distillery Bottling Plant owner

Raipur, Feb 03: The Investigation wing of Income Tax (IT) Department comprising of two sleuths from IT office Delhi conducted search at the residence and other establishments of Distillery Bottling Plant owner Navneet Gupta here in Raipur on Thursday.
The team raided his house opposite TV Tower in Shankar Nagar and the bottling plant in Kumhari on Wednesday morning. There are reports that the IT department has seized documents in large number and is scrutinising the same with records of sale and stock shown and other inventory in the books of record.
As per information in this regard from IT sources, the combined team of two IT sleuths from Delhi and 18 others from IT Raipur office raided the residence of Distillery Bottling Plant owner on Wednesday. The raid was conducted jointly at the residence and the godown and office of the firm in Kumhari.
As per preliminary information there are chances of tax evasion by the firm owner and the department has seized documents and records and is investigating the same. It is only after scanning of documents and tallying other records that exact amount of tax evasion can be calculated and it may take one or two
days time.
