In IPL Cricket, Rajasthan Royals defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 24 runs at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai last night. Both Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are now tied on 16 points from 13 matches and need another win to confirm their place in the next stage of the tournament. With the margin of victory, RR also toppled LSG from second place. Chasing a target of 179 runs, Lucknow Super Giants were restricted to 154 for eight in the stipulated 20 overs with Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna and Obed McCoy scalped two wickets each for RR while Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin took one wicket each. Trent Boult was declared Player of the Match. Earlier, after winning the toss and opted to bat first, a knock of 41 runs by Yashasvi Jaiswal helped Rajasthan post 178 for six in the stipulated 20 overs. For Lucknow Super Giants, Ravi Bishnoi took two wickets while Avesh Khan, Jason Holder, and Ayush Badoni took one wicket each.
In another match played earlier yesterday at Wankhede stadium in Mumbai, Gujarat Titans defeated Chennai Super Kings by seven wickets. Batting first after winning the toss, Chennai made 133 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Gujarat Titans overhauled the target in 19.1 overs scoring 137 for three wickets.
Today, Punjab Kings will take on Delhi Capitals at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai at 7:30 pm.
