Insecurity forced women to hold demo: Pandey

Raipur, Feb 20: Insecurity among women has forced the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mahila Morcha to hold demonstration for safety of women in Chhattisgarh, stated the Rajya Sabha member Saroj Pandey while addressing a demonstration organised against the ruling Congress government over deterioting law and order situation including rise in crime against women.
Speaking further, RS member Pandey said that unity among women would certainly ensure justice to them. She urged the Mahila Morcha members to gear up against the alleged insensitive Congress government here which has failed to address the grievances, she added.
She also had a dig over the liquor prohibition in Chhattisgarh stating that the Congress came to power on the promise of complete prohibition but no effective steps have been taken so far towards it. Former Minister and Mahila Morcha in-charge Lata Usendi and former Minister Ramsheila Sahu also termed it to be failure on part of the state government to ensure security to women in Chhattisgarh.
Mahila Morcha president Shalini Rajput said that they would continue to hold demonstration till the government does not order probe into cases against women.
After holding demonstration at Budhatalab dharna spot, the Mahila Morcha members submitted memorandum to Governor seeking justice to the victim women.
