Innovations in tribal region are yielding major positive results
Jagdalpur, Sep 12:
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel speaking at the 21st episode of ‘Lokvaani’- the monthly radio programme aired today said that the innovative steps taken in the tribal region for all-round development of Chhattisgarh have now begun to yield positive results. He further informed that Malaria-Mukt Bastar Abhiyan has brought great relief to people, and success of this campaign is being appreciated across the country. Certainly, the idea of saving Bastar from Malaria and the way it was implemented is considered an innovation. After the formation of our government, when we conducted a survey in seven districts of Bastar division, we found that the annual parasite index i.e. API was more than 10, which is a dangerous-level. Under the campaign, our health workers conducted door-to-door surveys and each and every individual was examined. Free medicines were distributed. Anti-mosquito medicines were sprayed in the houses. Medicated mosquito nets were distributed. These efforts led to a steady decrease in the rate of API. The positivity rate has come down from 4.6 per cent to 0.86 per cent in the last one year. The impact rate of malaria has reduced by 45 percent in the entire Bastar division. The effective implementation of the campaign has been appreciated by NITI Aayog and UNDP and has been described as exemplary for other aspirational districts of the country. I would also like to mention that ‘Mukhyamantri Haat-Bazaar Clinic Yojna’, an innovative step to provide healthcare services in far-flung areas, is also yeilding significant results. More than 11 lakh people were provided medical treatment under Mukhyamantri Haat-Bazaar Clinic Scheme. The campaign to eradicate malaria has proven to be a boon for women and children. It has benefited the security forces and the residents as well.
Likewise, the winds of change in Dantewada are also the outcome of innovative campaigns being conducted by the state government. Mr. Baghel spoke about Dannex Textile Factory, which was inaugurated on January 31, 2021, has provided employment to 300 families. Three more similar centers are being established, which will provide employment to nearly 1200 people. DANNEX brand has now entered the FPO sector, under which food and handicraft items are also being sold in Dantewada district.
