Information about govt schemes should reach more & more people: Dr. Bharathidasan

Raipur, Sep 02: Commissioner of Public Relations Department, Dr. Bharathidasan took an in-depth review of the departmental working by holding a meeting of the Directorate of Public Relations and district level officers through video conferencing from Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan here.
He directed the officers to make effective use of all means of mass communication to make information about the schemes and programs of Chhattisgarh government to the general public. Dr. Bharathidasan told the officers that articles, success stories should be released regularly about the changes in the living standards of the people and the facilities provided by the schemes and programs of the government so that other people also get inspired by the schemes of the government and come forward to take advantage of it and move towards progress. He also directed the district level officers to make maximum use of social media platforms. Commissioner Dr. Bharathidasan directed the district level officers to issue news and articles prominently on issues related to public interest, especially health, education, self-employment and livelihood. The Public Relations Officers were instructed to decide the topics of writing according to the time and situation and to publicize it widely for public awareness.
He said that the way a public awareness campaign was conducted about the measures and protocols to avoid spread of infection during corona epidemic, in the same way, the advice of expert doctors and video clippings to prevent seasonal and water-borne diseases, the public awareness should be ensured through this medium. Commissioner Dr. Bharathidasan asked to release articles and news regularly about the flagship schemes of Chhattisgarh government, activities conducted in the Gauthans of villages under Narva, Garuwa, Ghurva and Bari scheme, developing means of livelihood, groundwater enrichment due to treatment of Narva and benefits to farmers.
He directed the officers to visit the rural areas of the district and also to document the benefits being received by the people from government schemes and programs. On the occasion, Dr. Bharathidasan took information from the district level officers about the work done by them one by one. On this occasion, Additional Director of the department, J.L. Dario, Umesh Mishra, Joint Director Alok Dev, Sanjeev Tiwari and other senior officers were present.
