India hits highest 1-day Covid cases, deaths

New Delhi, July 16:
India’s coronavirus tally surged to 9.68 lakh cases this morning after more than 32,000 new patients were recorded in the last 24 hours in the country’s biggest single-day surge, the Union Health Ministry said this morning.
This is the first day that COVID-19 cases in India have increased by more than 30,000.
The number of recoveries stands at 6,12,815, while there are 3,31,146 active cases of coronavirus infection presently in the country, the updated data at 8 am showed.
“Thus, around 63.24 per cent of patients have recovered so far,” an official said.
The total number of confirmed cases include foreigners.
