Health Minister TS Singhdeo held meeting with officers of the Medical College, Ambikapur and other district-level officers at the meeting hall of the Medical College in Ambikapur here on Tuesday and reviewed about making better arrangements. He said that Medical College is an unparallel institution of Surguja division and it holds a separate identity and people have lot of expectations from it. So it is in order to meet upto people’s expectation, the lacunae and other shortcomings in the College should be fulfilled.
Speaking to the officers, TS Singhdeo said that sanitation and power supply are two essential things and for uninterrupted power supply he suggested to istall auto-unit in the generator. He also directed to complete the ongoing construction work soon. Singhdeo said that the funds from ‘Jeevandeep Samiti’ should not be utilised for purchase of equipments, medicine purchase but for making arrangements for the doctors and medical staff. For testing of COVID-19 , the establishment of machine in ‘Virology’ Lab and appointment of technicians and their training should be completed. Under ‘Ayushman Yojana’ there are more number of return of cases of the patients and he directed to reduce the same and develop proper software and simply the procedure of documentation.
Minister Singhdeo said that by carrying out regular promotion of doctors in the Medical College and sorting out other anomalies, the file should be kept ready and send it to the Health Department. He said that by sorting out shortage of doctors for Sonography work, the MBBS doctors be trained for this work. Along with this the X-Ray and Dialysis machine installed in two different rooms should be shifted into one hall, so that patients have both the machines available at one place. He said that the problem of subject experts in the Medical College should be sorted out and those not joining even after transfer should be given a warning and face strict action.
Singhdeo said that safety is the biggest challenge in the Medical College and to sort it out the number of check-points be increased. Apart from CCTV cameras, electronic surveillance equipment should be installed. Issue the passes for entry into any ward in the hospital and for passes separate counter be made and there should be fixed time for entry into the ward for the visitors. He also directed to contact the hospital management or the Police and install an intercom system. In case of any untoward incident, he asked the police personnel deployed in the hospital to inform SP and take strict action against the accused.
