House burgled in Saddu; valuables worth Rs 1.50 lakh stolen

Raipur: Unidentified burglar, on the intervening night of Wednesday-Thursday broke into a locked house in Saddu’s Rajdhani Vihar Colony and decamped with valuables worth Rs 1.50 lakh by further breaking open the almirah.

The burglary was noticed late on Thursday after the house owner returned to the city. A complaint was soon lodged in Vidhan Sabha police station following which further investigation is now underway. According to police, c o m p l a i n a n t Chandrakant Tandon of F-102 in Saddu’s Rajdhani Vihar colony had been to his native place on Wednesday evening to leave his family members for a family function. Returning back from there on Thursday night, he found that the main door’s lock was broken and missing.

Further entering into the house he found that everything inside was ransacked completely and the almirah too was broken from which the burglars have taken away all the gold and silver ornaments kept in it along with the ATM card and bank passbook, all totalling to Rs 1.50 lakh. Vidhan Sabha police, in the meantime, have registered an offence under Section 457, 380 IPC against unidentified burglars and now further investigation is underway.
