House burgled in Chhattisgarh Nagar

Raipur: Unidentified thieves broke into a locked house of Tikrapara’s Chhattisgarh Nagar area in broad daylight on Tuesday afternoon
and decamped with gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 1.50 lakh.

The burglary was detected when house owner’s wife returned from nearby market where she had been with a neighbouring woman. The burglary was soon complained in Tikrapara police station following which an investigation is now underway.

According to police, complainant Reena Mandal of Chhattisgarh had been to a nearby market with a neighbouring on Tuesday between 12:00 noon time. Returning from there in about half an hour, Reena was stunned to find the lock on the main door of her house been broken and missing. Further entering into the house she found that the unlocked almirah had been ransacked completely and all the gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 1.50 lakh kept in it was gone.

She soon reached Tikrapara police station and lodged a complaint with regards to the burglary following which police registered an offence under Section 454, 380 IPC against unidentified burglar and is now investigating the matter further.

In another burglary reported in Mujhgahan police station, unidentified thieves broke into a room of Kandul’s government school and took away 12 nos. of sewing machines, worth Rs 25000, being used for imparting training to women under skill development programme.

Police, meanwhile have registered an offence under Section 457, 380 IPC against unidentified thieves and is now investigating the matter further.
