Himachal Pradesh becomes India’s first ‘smoke-free state’

In May 2016, a revolution under the name of Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana was started by the Indian government.

The flagship scheme aimed at providing clean cooking fuel such as LPG available to every nook and corner of the nation. Riding on the back of welfare schemes like ‘Ujjwala Yojana’ and ‘Himachal Grihini Suvidha Yojana’, Himachal Pradesh has become the first ‘smoke-free state’ in India.
