Higher educational institutions should provide employment-oriented education: Anusuiya Uikey

Raipur, Jul 06: The Governor of Chhattisgarh, Ms. Anusuiya Uikey said that higher education institutions should prepare curriculum for imparting employment oriented education. She said that our education system should be relevant in life. By 2030, India will have the largest number of youth in the world, so we must make major changes in the curriculum to give due place to the aspirations of the youth. Naveen Jindal, Patron of the OP Jindal University (OPJU) and the Chairman of the Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL), called upon the passed out students on the occasion to contribute in nation building which makes the country and the university proud.
Governor Ms Anasuiya Uikey was addressing the first convocation of OP Jindal University (OPJU), Raigarh late last evening. Degrees and awards were distributed to undergraduate and postgraduate students in this ceremony organized online under the Covid-19 protocol. 82 students were awarded with medals for their exemplary performance.
Uikey said that we need an education system which is based on positive methods and which strengthens the spirit of self-reliance. Convocation is an unforgettable moment in itself; it is a moment of happiness for the students because they get the fruits of their hard work on this day itself. It marks the culmination of a phase of learning and also a matter of satisfaction that the students are now ready to face the world with full potential and ability. It is also a day of satisfaction for the parents as their hard work pays off. She wished all the students a bright future.
The Governor also congratulated all the teachers and staff of OP Jindal University for organizing this program.
Speaking on the occasion Naveen Jindal said that it is a proud day for 718 undergraduate and postgraduate students of OP Jindal University, who have obtained degrees.
I wish them all the very best and best wishes for a bright future. You go ahead, do great work for the nation and society, which your university and country should be proud of.
This university is the real culmination of the dreams of Babuji OP Jindal, who always inspired to do useful work for the society. He said that the society from which we take a lot, we should also return it in some form or the other.
Welcoming the guests, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. RD Patidar said that OP Jindal University, established in 2014, has achieved a lot in a very short span of time. He said that the University is committed to provide world class education to the students as per the dreams of the patron Naveen Jindal. Gold, silver and bronze medals were presented to the top 82 students in the convocation.
In addition, they were awarded certificates and degrees. Ratnam V. Rajkumar, Director, IIT Bhubaneswar, Dr. Shivvaran Shukla, Chairman, Chhattisgarh Private University Regulatory Commission, Barry Win, Vice-Chancellor Sohar University, Oman, University Chancellor Praveen Purang and many other dignitaries participated in the program.
