Raipur, Apr 04: Heavyweight leaders from Chhattisgarh including the Cabinet Ministers were kept at bay during the brief visit of BJP National President Amit Shah at Raipur Airport here on Wednesday.
Just six peoples including Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, State BJP President Dharmlal Kaushik, State Organisational Secretary Pawan Sai, BJP National General Secretary Saroj Pandey and senior tribal leader Nand Kumar Sai were the only few apart from the Chhattisgarh party affairs in-charge Anil Jain who held close door talks with the BJP chief Amit Shah at the VIP Lounge. Heavyweight leaders including the Cabinet Ministers were seen waiting outside the VIP Lounge to get noticed from the party supremo.
However, they were earlier allowed to greet the central leader and welcome him to Raipur at Airport. But soon the loud and clear message was delivered to the waiting heavyweights that only selected few would be allowed to have a close door talks. While the Ministers and MLAs were eager to have a word with the party high command, the reported controversy of holding meeting at Airport after the principal opposition parties cried foul, forced the BJP to keep their interaction a low key affair at Raipur Airport. Hundreds of senior leaders including the MLAs and State Office-bearers had reached Airport to meet the visiting BJP chief Amit Shah but could hardly have any word with him except greeting on his arrival. Shah held talks with the party leaders for nearly an hour during the brief stay en-route to Odisha visit.
