Health Minister reviews progress of COVID testing and vaccination

Raipur, May 10: Health Minister TS Singhdeo today reviewed progress of COVID testing and vaccination in the state, with senior officials of health department. Addressing a review meeting held at New Circuit House in Civil Line here he instructed to speed up vaccination for all the sections.
He called for setting up vaccination centers in places and buildings that are convenient for citizens.
He directed to make available all necessary facilities in the vaccination centers so that people arriving for vaccination do not face any inconvenience. Singhdeo called upon the Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation to coordinate with the two vaccine companies to arrange maximum number of vaccines for the age group of 18 to 44 years. He also asked to store sufficient number of consumables required for vaccination.
Health Minister Singhdeo told in the meeting that Bharat Biotech and Serum Institute of India have been asked to supply 75-75 lakh vaccines for vaccination of people aged between 18 years and 44 years. He hoped to get nine lakh vaccine doses this month. State Nodal Officer of Corona Vaccination, Dr Priyanka Shukla informed that till May 9, one lakh nine thousand 869 persons in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated.
A total of 59 lakh 36 thousand vaccine doses have been given to health workers, frontline workers, citizens above 45 years and people in the age group of 18 to 44 years in the state so far.
The review meeting was attended by Principal Secretary of Health Department, Dr Alok Shukla, Secretary Shehla Nigar, Director of Health Services Neeraj Bansod, Managing Director of Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation, Karthikeya Goyal and Controller of Food and Drug Administration KD Kunjam.
