Guru Rudrakumar to inaugurate handloom and handicrafts exhibition

Raipur, Aug 06: State Public Health Engineering and Village Industries Minister Guru Rudra Kumar will inaugurate the 9-day exhibition to be organised on National Handloom Day on August 7 at 3 pm at Chhattisgarh Haat Complex, Pandri, Raipur. The exhibition will be open to the general public till August 15 from 11 am to 9 pm. Parliamentary Secretary Mrs. Ambika Singhdeo, President of Chhattisgarh State Housing Board, Chairman Kuldeep Juneja, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Khadi and Village Industries Board, Rajendra Tiwari, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Handicrafts Development Board, Chandan Kashyap, Chhattisgarh State Handloom Development and Marketing Association, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Matikala Board along with Mr. Motilal Devangan, Mr. Balam Chakradhari will be present as special guest. Director Village Industries, Sudhakar Khalkho informed that a 9-day handloom and handicrafts exhibition is being organised on the occasion of 7th National Handloom Day. A total of 50 stalls will be set up in this exhibition including 18 weavers’ societies of the state, 20 handicraft artisans, 5 each of Khadi and Village Industries and Matikala craftsmen and two stalls of silk textiles and yarn. The handicrafts of Chhattisgarh state in the exhibition are Dhokra, Iron Crafts, Wood Crafts, Bamboo Crafts, Tattoo Crafts, Shisal Crafts, Terracotta Crafts, Murals Paintings, Stone Crafts, Kaundi Crafts, Tumba Crafts, Embroidery and various crafts including Traditional Textiles and Handloom Textiles. The sale of kosa silk, tussar silk, cotton dress material, sarees, tupattas, bed sheets, bedsheets and materials manufactured by Khadi textiles and village industries will also be the center of attraction in the exhibition.
In the exhibition, attractive home furnishings and furnishings and handloom textiles and handicrafts items will be available for sale at reasonable prices for the residents of the capital as per their choice during the festive season. During this event, the Corona Guidelines issued by the State Government are to be specially followed.
