Gujarat assembly delegation meets Chhattisgarh assembly speaker

Raipur, Aug 26: A 15-member delegation of Gujarat is on a five-day visit to Chhattisgarh from August 26 to 30 under the leadership of Gujarat Assembly Speaker Rajendra Bhai Trivedi under “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” scheme of the Department of Higher Education and Human Resources, Government of India for development of unity in diversity, sense of national unity, culture and traditions and promotion of the spirit of mutual connection.
On the first day of the visit today the delegation met Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr Charandas Mahant at Assembly premises here. Chhattisgarh legislators Satyanarayan Sharma, Dhanendra Sahu, Brijmohan Agrawal, Dharmajit Singh, Chhattisgarh Assembly principal secretary Chandra Shekhar Gangrade and Secretary Dinesh Sharma were present on the occasion. Earlier the Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr Mahant welcomed the Gujarat Assembly Speaker Rajendra Bhai Trivedi with bouquet on latter’s arrival at Assembly premises. The delegation of Gujarat Assembly comprised legislators Brijesh Merja, Jignesh Kumar Sevak, Ashwin Bhai Kotwal, Geniben Thakor, Dr Ashaben Patel, Nimishaben Suthar, Babu Bhai Patel, Anand Bhai Choudhary, Rakesh Bhai Shah, Jagdish Vishvakarma and Gujarat Assembly secretary DM Patel.
Discussions were held on parliamentary system and practices, culture and traditions of both the states and other aspects pertaining to development of both the states. Speakers of the Legislative Assembly of both the states exchanged ideas related to innovation in parliamentary practice and parliamentary traditions in the Legislative Assemblies of both the states and emphasized on assimilating each other’s culture, lifestyle and ethics to make them stronger. The Gujarat Assembly Speaker and delegation members also visited the Chhattisgarh Assembly hall and central hall and admired the beauty and maintenance of the premises.
Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr Mahant honoured Gujarat Assembly Speaker Rajendra Bhai Trivedi and delegation with shawls, srifals and mementoes. Gujarat Assembly Speaker Mr Trivedi too honoured Dr Mahant by presenting replica of Sardar Patel, shawl and srifal. The Gujarat Assembly Speaker also invited Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr Mahant and delegation of Chhattisgarh legislators to Gujarat under ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ scheme. Accepting the invitation Dr Mahant approved Gujarat visit in the near future.
