Guidelines issued for treatment and monitoring of coronavirus infection

Raipur, Apr 04: The state government’s health department has issued comprehensive guidelines for treatment and monitoring of Coronavirus infection with uncomplicated and mild symptoms in home isolation. Director, Health Services Neeraj Bansod has issued a circular to the Chief Medical and Health Officers of all the districts to ensure strict compliance to the protocol related to home isolation
The department has given detailed instructions regarding permission, eligibility, conditions, rules, responsibilities of district administration, monitoring of health of patients and necessary precautions to be taken by patients for treatment of COVID-19 in home isolation.
In a circular issued by the department, it has been said that COVID-19 patients have been allowed home isolation according to the prescribed criteria by the state government. The patient’s eligibility will be assessed before allowing home isolation. It is mandatory for the coronavirus infected patients to have a ventilated room and separate toilet in the house. If there is no such arrangement at home, then the treatment of the patient will be managed in the Covid Care Center. Home isolation will not be allowed to families using community toilets.
Undertaking will be filled in the prescribed form from the patients allowed for home isolation. Patients found suitable for home isolation will be provided with a kit of medicines for treatment. During the entire period of home isolation, the health workers appointed by the District Health Department will be in touch with the doctors or their attendants every day via phone.
Also, in the home isolation, the daily information of the person being treated should also be compiled and shared according to the prescribed form. Instructions have been given to set up call centers and control rooms to be operated round the clock seven days a week at the district level. The district control room will assess the patient’s eligibility before allowing home isolation.
