Generic medicine shops to be opened at five places under Chief Minister’s scheme

Bhilai, Oct 10: Citizens will be able to get high quality generic medicines at cheap rates in the limits of Bhilai Municipal Corporation under the Mukhya Mantri Sasti Dawa Dukaan Yojna. Bhilai Municipal Corporation has started the process of implementing this scheme.
Corporation Commissioner Prakash Surve along with the officials inspected the shops/buildings required for this Scheme so that these shops/buildings can be prepared for the Affordable Medicine Shops at the earliest. For the implementation of this scheme, the shops / buildings of carpet area between 500 to 800 sq ft have been selected.
Commissioner inspected the shops / buildings at Power House Pragati Market, Tea Market, building near Baikunth Dham, building located in Vaishali Nagar Zone Office Complex, and Nehru Bhawan near Supela Market.
The main objective of the scheme is to increase the demand for generic medicines. The shops will ensure that quality should not be inferior to branded medicines and easy availability.
Chief Minister’s scheme will prove to be a better medium for getting the generic medicines. Apart from generic medicines, regular supply of surgical items will also be ensured. Other cosmetics etc can also be sold from these shops so that the operation of the shop can be profitable.
Apart from this, common items like Ring Guard, Balm, Iodex, Vicks Vaporizer, Dettol, Itch Guard, Vaporizer Machine, Sanitary Pad, Contraceptive and other similar items can be sold.
The most important clause is that in any case the sale of branded medicines will not be allowed. Apart from this, all the medicines/materials being sold in the Sanjeevani shops run by the Forest Department will be sold through these shops.
Medicines being purchased for the mobile medical unit operated under the Chief Minister’s Slum Health Scheme will also be purchased through these shops.
To give concrete shape to this important scheme, the officials of the corporation are acting with commitment. Soon the citizens will be able to get the benefit of the Mukhya Mantri Sasti Dawa Dukaan Yojna.
During the inspection, Zone Commissioner Manish Gaikwad, Pooja Pillay, Executive Engineer Sanjay Bagde, Deputy Engineer Arvind Sharma, Shweta Verma and Prakriti Jagtap were present.
