Gang of notorious bike lifters busted

Bhilai, Sep 19: With the arrest of six ruffians including three juveniles, police claimed to have busted a gang of notorious bike lifters. Police have recovered ten nos motor bikes from their possession. Sub Inspector Naresh Sarwa (SHO, Padmanabhpur Chowki) informed that under the guidance of SP Prashant Thakur, ASP (City) Rohit Jha and CSP (Durg) Vivek Shukla, they are continuously making efforts to trace the people involved in criminal and offensive activities. Strict vigil is being maintained on the activities of suspects and criminal record holders.
In this sequel, two bikes moving with two-pillion riders each were intercepted near Jail Triangle. Cops asked the youth to show the vehicle documents as well as their driving licenses but they were unable to produce the documents. When questioned strictly, two of them confessed to have stolen almost 15 bikes from different places. They also disclosed the names of their accomplices.
Police succeeded in recovering almost ten stolen bikes from different places. Efforts are being made to recover the remaining bikes. The accused were identified as Monu alias Khileshwar Thakur (20) son of Shyam Sundar Thakur a resident of Parijat Colony, Talpuri; Nitish Mishra (20) son of Laxman Mishra a resident of Ratanbhat, Dongargaon (Rajnandgaon); Aman Khan (30) son of Aslam Khan a resident of Raja Khujji (Rajnandgaon) and three juveniles. They have been booked in connection with ten different cases of bike lifting registered under section 379 of IPC.
Sub Inspector Naresh Sarwa, Head Constable Rajendra Wankhede, Constable Javed Khan, Pradeep Thakur, Ashish Sahu, Lokesh Sahu and Balmukund Sahu played vital role in arresting the accused.
