FSNL honours journalists with Seva Sankalp Samman

Bhilai, Aug 06: Ferro Scrap Nigam Limited (FSNL) honoured the journalists of Steel City with Seva Sankalp Samman during a brief function held at Mini Auditorium of FSNL Corporate Office in Bhilai. Shatdal Mitra (Chief General Manager, Finance & Accounts) graced the event as Chief Guest while Pankaj Tyagi (Deputy General Manager, Personnel and Administration) presided over the function. Senior Journalists Alok Tiwari, Puneet Kaushik, Bhavana Pandey, Ashok Panda, Vijay Dubey, Praveen Sharma, Anil Panda, Raghunandan Panda, Manendra Patel, Anand Ojha and Umesh Niwal were honoured with “Seva Sankalp Samman”. Head of various departments of FSNL were present in the programme.
At the outset, the programme began with lighting the ceremonial lamp at the portrait of Goddess Saraswati. Presiding over the programme, Pankaj Tyagi (Deputy General Manager, Personnel and Administration) welcomed the journalists and said that Journalism is the fourth pillar of democracy. We come to know about the ever changing world and life through journalism. The study of circumstances, the tendency to contemplate and self-expression and the spirit of public good and welfare of others gave birth to journalism. He further said that the courage and devotion towards duty displayed by the journalists in the difficult circumstances of the corona epidemic is incomparable. FSNL family is making a small effort to honour this sense of service, he said.
Senior Journalist Alok Tiwari praised FSNL for continuing its operations even during the period of Covid-19. Journalism can become meaningful by connecting with social concerns and public interest. Meaningful journalism is the fulfilment of the responsibility of taking social concerns to the threshold of the system and bringing the public interest policies and schemes of the administration to the lowest strata of the society.
Senior Journalist Puneet Kaushik also praised the FSNL and its hardworking employees. He said that the company is accomplishing the work of patriotism through scrap processing. He appreciated the FSNL’s efforts to encourage the journalists.
New Press Club of Bhilai Nagar President Bhavana Pandey while praising the works being done by FSNL under Corporate Social Responsibility said that FSNL is a profit making company and is generating wealth from waste by maximising recovery of waste materials generated by Iron and Steel making and other manufacturing processes. Offering its wide range of services, FSNL saves substantial amount of energy and natural resources of the nation.
Ashok Panda said that through Ferro Scrap Recovery, FSNL annually recycles metals worth millions and thereby saves valuable raw materials. Umesh Niwal said that FSNL is expanding the operational horizon of the company by expanding the existing business and entering into new areas so as to provide better services to the customers. In the age of globalisation, FSNL has emerged as a strong competitor for private companies.
Manendra Patel also praised the works of FSNL and said that journalism is known as the fourth pillar of democracy but the journalists never expect any honour in return. Journalism becomes meaningful only by being associated with interest of common people and social concerns. Anand Ojha said that youth can learn a lot from FSNL. He appreciated the company’s work in the national interest by the hardworking employees in the field of scrap processing by rendering their services to the steel plants.
Chief Guest Shatdal Mitra (Chief General Manager, Finance & Accounts) and Pankaj Tyagi (Deputy General Manager, Personnel and Administration) honoured the journalists with shawl, shrifal and mementos. The journalists oversaw the waste recycling unit set up in the corporate office of FSNL and praised the cleanliness and housekeeping. They watched the corporate film of FSNL and appreciated the works of FSNL. Rajbhasha Officer Chhagan Lal Nagvanshi conducted the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
