Fraud dupes one of Rs 1.420 lakh on pretext of porting his cell phone

Raipur, Dec10: In a sensational fraud reported in Civil Lines police, unidentified fraud had reportedly siphoned Rs 1.42 lakh from the complainant’s bank account.
According to police, complainant Raiyukt Ali, of Raja Talab on December 9 from a phone number 9754864693 wherein the called told him that his phone operator has b33n changed to Idea Cellular. He further told him that the operation of his cell phone will be immediately changed and the number will also cease to exist permanently. With the complainant seemed confused, the fraud asked him that a message has been sent to him and the OTP needs to be shared without any delay. The complainant immediately shared the OTP with the caller and this turned out to be major as the fraud instantly siphoned Rs 1.42 lakh from his bank account.
Police meanwhile have registered an offence under Section 420 IPC against the holder of the phone number and further investigation is now underway.
