Formation of SEFRB in state soon, says Tekam

Understanding the pains of parents having children in private schools, the state government is planning to put a check on hefty recovery of fees by the private school management in the state and for this the School Education Department has decided to form School Education Fees Regulatory Board (SEFRB) and draft of which has already been prepared. The information in this regard was given by School Education Minister Dr Premsai Singh Tekam in a Meet-to-the –Press programme organized in Press Club here on Wednesday. School Education Minister Tekam said that the Fees Regulatory Board of School Education apart from taking decision about fees, would also take decision regarding the cost of text-books, copies, dress and other things required in schools. On this occasion Tekam gave brief details about working of School Education Department. He said that it is government’s intention that the children in government schools should get quality education, so that the parents need not approach the private schools for quality education. School Education Minister said that all basic amenities in government schools will also be ensured. As per government’s scheme, the school children are being provided right from uniform to text-books free of cost in the Schools and added that emphasis is on provide better atmosphere to school children for studies at local level itself.
