Fate of farmers of Keshavnagar and Nayanpur will change

Surajpur, Jun 13: On completion of Solar Community Irrigation Scheme at the Anicut constructed on Rehar river at village Keshavnagar, Surajpur district, the farmers will now be able to take three crops. These farmers met the Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel at Keshavnagar’s Choupal and informed him about this scheme being set up in the village.
The Revar river passes from mid of village Keshavnagar and Nayanpur on which Water Resources Department has constructed the anicut in which the river water is available throughout the year Under the solar community irrigation scheme, about 144 farmers of village Keshavnagar and Nayanpur in185 acres of land for irrigation 60 nos, 5 HP capacity D.C. Solar Surface pump is being set up. Out of which 24 nos Solar pumps have been installed, the remaining 36 nos Solar pumps installation are in progress.
Prior to installation of solar pumps the farmers were taking only one crops In the absence of the means of irrigation, the farmers were dependent on wages given by other farmers for living. Due to tribal dominated area, it was not possible for the farmers of the poorer sections to get irrigation from the diesel pump-kerosene pump. With the availability of water, there is considerable enthusiasm among the farmers due to the installation of solar pumps. Along with cultivation of the vegetables, the farmers are now planting fruits. To make the scheme successful, the farmers have taken the determination to take 3 crops through the Kisan Solar pump. This solar community irrigation scheme will increase the income of the farmers and improve the standard of living.
