Farmers will be provided water-supply for Rabi crops : Dr Raman Singh

In the massive public gathering organized at Bhakhara in Dhamtari district under state-wide Atal Vikas Yatra, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh announced that farmers of the state will be provided water for irrigation of Rabi crops. He said that this year, good rainfall in state during monsoons has filled irrigation water reservoirs sufficiently. Subsequently, State Government has decided to provide water for irrigation of rabi crops. He said that for kharif marketing year 2018-19, paddy procurement in cooperative societies of the state will commence from November 1. Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has hiked support price of paddy by Rs 200 this year. As a result of which, farmers of Chhattisgarh will get Rs 1750 per quintal for normal paddy and Rs 1770 per quintal for A-grade paddy. In addition, state government will provide bonus at the rate of Rs 300 per quintal. In this way farmers will receive Rs 2000 per quintal.

Chief Minister said- In this kharif season, a huge amount of nearly Rs 14 thousand crore will be paid to the farmers against paddy procurement. Chief Minister said in the general assembly held yesterday that State Government is making every possible to promote food processing industries, so that our farmers may get a good market for their agriculture produce and their income may get doubled by year 2022 as per the vision of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi.

Chief Minister said- in the same sequence, food park has been developed on nearly 170 acres of area in Banjari-Bagaud of Kurud block in Dhamtari district. Chief Minister inaugurated this food park, developed by CSIDC at the cost of Rs 45 crore, in this general assembly. Chief Minister unveiled total 270 construction works worth Rs 1464 crore for Dhamtari district in the general assembly today. This includes inauguration of 83 completed works worth nearly Rs 457 crore and bhumi-pujan of 187 newly-sanctioned works worth Rs one thousand 7 crore. Dr Singh also distributed goods and financial aids worth Rs two crore 90 lakh to 429 beneficiaries under various government schemes. He announced upgrading of Bhakhara as Tehsil and establishing of polytechnic college in Kurud soon.

On the occasion, Tourism, Culture and Cooperatives Minister Mr. Dayaldas Baghel, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Mr. Ajay Chandrakar, Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister Mrs. Ramsheela Sahu, MP Mr. Chandulal Sahu, CSIDS Chairman Mr. Chhaganlal Mundra and officials of various organizations, senior public representatives and thousands of farmers, labourers and common people were present. General assembly was also addressed by Panchayat Minister Mr. Ajay Chandrakar and MP Mr. Chandulal Sahu.
