Farmers to get benefits under RGNS for Khariff season 2020

Raipur, May 18: Chhattisgarh Government on Tuesday decided to provide the benefits of Rajiv Gandhi Kissan Nyay Scheme for the Khariff 2020 season to the registered farmers in four installments.
Above decision was taken at the meeting of State Cabinet held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel here. Similarly, decisions have also been taken to include the agriculture forestry and sugarcane crop under the above scheme in the Khariff 2021 season apart from paddy, maize and pulses. In the upcoming Khariff 2021 season, the farmers would get incentive of Rs 9000 per acre in four installments for the first two years to the farmers.
Similarly, the State Cabinet also decided to provide incentives to the farmers for the plantation in their farm land from the current season.
Several other decisions were also taken including the approval to the proposal seeking amendments in the New Industrial Policy allowing the benefits to the new and allied industrial units associated with the medicines and medical equipments related with Corona treatment in Chhattisgarh. Cabinet also gave approval to the proposal seeking appointment of sister of Galwan martyr as Grade III assistant under special compensatory ground. Cabinet also gave approval to the proposed Chhattisgarh Mahtari Dulari Scheme 2021 under which the government would bear educational expenses of the children whose parents lost life due to Covid 19 in various government schools. Such children would also get monthly scholarship of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 for the students from class 1 to8 and from class 9 to 12 respectively.
The other important decision taken by the Cabinet was promotion of plantation in Chhattigarh and launching of Mukhyamantri Vriksharopan Protsahan Yojana (CVPY) and under this farmers will be motivated to take u p plantation in their private land, govt departments and on land of Gram Panchayats with fuel and non-fuel wood for commercial plantation.
Under this scheme for Khariff season 2020-21, if the farmers taking up paddy crop takes up plantation in their farms, then they will be paid Rs 10000 per acre for next three years as ‘Protsahan Rashi’. Under this Scheme if the Joint Forest Management Socities also takes up plantation on revenue land, then they will also be paid Rs 10000 as ‘Protsahan Rashi’ and the right to cut and selling of trees will rest with the Samitis.
