Elephant deaths: Govt transfers PCCF Wildlife and DFOs

PV Narsingh Rao made new PCCF Wildlife in reshuffle among IFS Officers

Nine senior Indian Forest Services (IFS) Officers including the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF) Wild Life Atul Shukla has been issued fresh posting orders by the state government here on Friday.
According to the information received, PCCF Atul Shukla has been shifted from his present post to PCCF Training and Climate Change as he has been held responsible for the death of nearly half a dozen elephants in Sarguja region. He has also been given the additional charge of Director Chhattisgarh State Forest Research and Training Institute Raipur. Senior IFS Officer PV Narsingh Rao has been made new PCCF Wild Life in his place in the reshuffle here on Friday.
At the same time, three Divisional Forest Officers (DFOs) too have been transferred holding them too responsible for the failure the repeated deaths of six elephants in Chhattisgarh recently. The 2003 batch IFS and Visional Officer Koriya Forest Division Rajesh Kumar Chandele has been brought back to Forest headquarters Naya Raipur at the post of Deputy Forest Conservator at the office of PCCF. Similarly, the DFO Dharmjaigarh Priyanka Pandey and DFO Balrampur Forest Division Pranay Mishra too has been removed from the field and given posting at the office of PCCF in Naya Raipur.
DFO Keshkal Manivasagan S has been made new DFO of Dharmjaygarh in the reshuffle whereas Emotesu Aao posted as Director Guru Ghasidas National Sanctuary Baikunthpur has been given key responsibility of DFO Koriya Forest Division.
In the reshuffle, the Deputy Secretary Forest Ganveer Dhamsheel, the 2013 batch IFS officer has been posted as DFO Keshkal.
