Eight arrested for murder

Bhilai, Jul 09: With the arrest of eight persons, police claimed to have solved the blind murder case of a youth whose body was found lying at village Sirsakhurd on the intervening night of Thursday.
The incident was the outcome of a dispute which occurred during a marriage procession. The deceased was Hemchand Yadav (19) a resident of village Kopra, Gariyaband.
ASP (City) Sanjay Dhruw informed that Hemchand Yadav had come with the marriage party (baraat) of Sunil Yadav which had come to the family of Nand Kumar Yadav in Sirsakhurd.
At around 23:30 hrs, clash occurred between the people of both sides over the issue of dancing. The matter was immediately disposed off by the elders.
But later in the night, eight youth of the bride’s side rounded up Hemchand Yadav at a lonely place and attacked him with a knife. They stabbed him to death and escaped from the spot.
On information, police team reached the spot and crime scene investigations were conducted. The suspects were taken in custody and soon eight of them confessed involvement in the murder.
The arrested accused are identified as Sanjay Yadav (19) a resident of Sirsakhurd; Suraj Yadav (20) a resident of Sirsakhurd; Rupesh Yadav (25) a resident of Sirsakhurd; Umesh Yadav (20) a resident of Sirsakhurd; Hitesh Pandey (22) a resident of Sirsakhurd; Ghanshyam Kumbhkar (27) a resident of Sirsakhurd; Omkar Kumhar (20) a resident of Sirsakhurd and Kuldeep Yadav (26) a resident of Sirsakhurd, Durg. They have been booked under the provisions mentioned in sections 147, 323, 427, 302 of IPC.
