‘Education ensures girl empowerment’

Vice Chancellor of Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur Prof. Sachchidanand Shukla while addressing the Induction programme of Gurukul Mahila Mahavidyalaya here on Saturday said that the Induction Program is the first step in their college education and the last step is organized in the form of Convocation Ceremony. The main objective of admission in college is to develop and bring out the hidden talents & skills of the students along with gaining knowledge.
The qualities that the students already have is brought to the surface and polished by teachers or professors. Describing the tradition of Gurukul, he said that here the knowledge and skills of all students are honed and they are made capable to go out and become a responsible citizen in the society. Explaining the importance of women power, he said that In India, women are more in numbers and are outperforming men in various fields, which is not seen in other foreign countries. This is an achievement for Indian women, but this power of women is not used to its maximum potential. Girls will have to become more confident and focused in every field in their lives, including education, which is of prime importance. This will definitely make sure that the future generation of girls and women get more empowerment. The Vice Chancellor also stressed about how Indian culture and our values is making us proud throughout the world.
Explaining the meaning of induction, Principal Dr. Sandhya Gupta told the students that while in college, they should try to hone their skills through academic and non-academic programs and try to give right direction to their future.
President Ajay Tiwari, while wishing a bright future for the girl students, explained the necessity of following the code of conduct in the college.
