EDII sign MoUs to create climate for students entrepreneurship

Raipur, Dec 09: Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), a National Resource Organization, engaged in promoting Entrepreneurship through education, research, training and institution building, has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with IIIT Naya Raipur and Guru Ghasidas Central University Bilaspur to create a favourable climate for students entrepreneurship in the technology-intensive domains. Talking to section of media persons here, the Director General of EDII Dr Sunil Shukla said that they have recently opened an office in Raipur to sensitize, mobilize and create a climate of interdependence and cooperation among the educational institutions, government and industry for promoting entrepreneurship education, research and provide support to the MSME sector in Chhattisgarh. He further informed that they have been already working with State Rural Livelihood Mission in Chhattisgarh for the Startup Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) and has promoted more than 8000 livelihood enterprise in four assigned Development Blocks of Chhattisgarh. He added that they would be submitting the vision document to Chhattisgarh Government as part of the roadmap to make entrepreneurship a major sector for economic development.
He stated that EDII aims to be a catalyst in making a difference in the lives of the tribal and rural population dependent on rich flora and fauna, traditional art, craft, textile and culture of Chhattisgarh.
