Each and every drop of COVID vaccine being used in Ch’garh

Raipur, May 21: Efforts are being made to utilise each and every drop of COVID vaccine received in Chhattisgarh under ongoing COVID vaccination drive. Health department officers said here today that out of 7 lakh 97 thousand 110 doses of COVID vaccine received in Chhattisgarh for vaccination of people in the age group of 18-44 years, 6 lakh 66 thousand 101 doses have been given so far while vaccination with 1 lakh 25 thousand 970 vaccine doses is underway. Therefore number of wastage doses was 5039 which is only 0.6% of the total doses received in state for vaccination of said age group.
Similarly the state so far received 68 lakh 40 thousand 210 doses for vaccination of people aged above 45 years. Of them 61 lakh 67 thousand 632 doses have been utilised so far while remaining 6 lakh 16 thousand 970 doses are currently being used in vaccination. The number of wastage dose in this age group is only 56 thousand 608 which is 0.8 per cent of total number of doses received in the state. The percentage of wastage doses in both the categories in Chhattisgarh is below average 2% on national level.
