Sushmita Patla, MTA (P-SPs & OHP) and Shalini Chaurasiya, MTA (P-Steel zone 1) under the guidance of Vikash Chandra, DGM (P-Steel zone 1) took the initiative to develop 2 modules. These include modules on Online Leave Management System (OLAMS) – with details on process of applying leave though the system, choosing the correct leave combination, documents to be submitted in case of commuted leave and submitting the leave application online. Vikash Chandra explained that the purpose of developing the emodule is to present information in an audio-visual manner with key points. Many more emodules will be developed in the future, he said.
Another e-module has been developed on different factors to be kept in mind while applying for Quarantine, Special CL or Commuted Leave in case of COVID 19 in OLAMS. The procedures to be followed when an employee turns positive – like giving declarations, getting fitness certificate from Main Medical Post (MMP) before joining and selecting the correct reason for type of leave have been explained in a lucid and interesting manner in the form of a short video with relevant images from the OLAMS system and other sites.
At the outset, SK Dubey, ED (P & A) appreciated this initiative and said that this will turn out to be a powerful medium to pass on information to employees. He urged the developers of the emodule to make more such modules on relevant and important issues. Senior officials present lauded the efforts of the Management Trainees in developing this module.
