Raipur, Jul 04: Health Index of India is one of the lowest in the globe. The Health Index is defined in terms of life expectancy at birth since a higher life expectancy at birth reflects better health outcomes for an individual. Advancement of medical science is unable to cure chronic health problems completely. Keeping the issue in mind, Dr Anil Gupta and Dr Ajay Sheesh stepped forward to do their bit towards the society and spread awareness about the importance of working on health rather than on disease. With auspicious Ganesh Chaturthi falling on September 13, a continuous five-day and night long seminar on holistic health will commence at Niranjan Das Dharamshala situated on VIP Road and will end on September 18 inking once again Chhattisgarh in Guinness Book of World Record for the “Longest Speech Marathon (More than 100 hours) by team of Two” (Dr Anil Gupta and Dr Ajay Sheesh).
Chhattisgarh will witness first of its kind Guinness World Record being created, clubbed with Health Carnival which will be having various Inter-School and Inter-College Activities. Health Mega Check-up camp will be centre of attraction. Team of experienced and renowned doctors will be available all the time for routine check-ups. Entry in the program will be on the basis of passes which will be available at Positive Health Zone, Amrapali Society, Raipur from 1st Sep to 8th September. Many self-help groups, Women Clubs, Business Groups, JCI Medico , Schools and Colleges have come forward to be part of the history being created in Chhattisgarh and are showing their active participation . Dr Ajay Sheesh addressing the scribes said “ Have already created the Guinness World Record twice and Golden Book of Record , but this time it’s real challenge to motivate people towards their own health while creating the record. We are trying to ensure that the message reach across the upcoming generation who will be responsible for healthy future. Dr Anil Gupta, Director, Shri Ganesh Vinayak Eye Hospital and Positive Health Zone added that “Working for many years on disease focused medical science, I feel that with chronic diseases growing at rapid speed there is a requirement of changing the approach towards the health system. We have started working on health rather than on disease.
This approach has forced us to spread awareness among masses and therefore we are creating first of its kind world record which will be beneficial for making healthy Chhattisgarh.
The World Health Organization defined HEALTH as a state of complete physical, mental, spiritual and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
