Raipur, May 15: Gearing up for the proposed 37th National Games in Chhattisgarh, the state government would prepare DPR for organising the event within three months whereas the players selected to represent Chhattisgarh in the 36th National Games in Goa would be provided all possible assistance with the objective to increase the prospect of medal.
Discussion on the above issues was taken up at the meeting of Chhattisgarh Olympic Association (COA) Executive Body held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh here on Tuesday evening. Officials informed that a delegation of Indian Olympic Association (IOA) would be visiting Chhattisgarh in the month of July to inspect the preparations for the proposed 37th National Games in Chhattisgarh.
At the same time with the objective to provide financial assistance for the promotion of various sports, a meeting of Sports Associations would be organised with the leading Industrial Houses which was raised by the office-bearers in presence of Dr Singh who is also the President of COA here. Suggestions were also sought from the representatives of various sports associations for organising Olympic Day event on June 23.
COA also felicitated the Vice President of Association Vikram Singh Sisodia who successfully led the Indian team in the recently held Commonwealth Games in Australia.
Raipur Parliamentarian Ramesh Bais, Panchayat Minister Ajay Chandrakar and other office-bearers of Association were also present on the occasion.
