Dozen trains cancelled, few sent on diverted route

Raipur: Due to ‘Feni’ cyclone, about a dozen trains towards Odisha remained cancelled here on Friday and route of three other trains were diverted. . Due to this sudden change in the route and cancellation of a dozen trains, many passengers to were stranded at the railway station and were in awkward position about the decision to be taken. Some of the passengers were found returning their ticket and therefore there was heavy rush at the Raipur Railway station since morning till evening hours.
As per information in this regard the trains which were cancelled on Friday were Puri-Ahmedbad Express; Puri-Haridwar Uttkal Express; Puri-Sai Nagar (Shirdi Express) for Shirdi; Puri –Durg Express. Similarly the Puri-Gandhidhaam train leaving on May 4 will also remain cancelled. In addition to this the Ajmer-Puri Express on May 7 will also remain cancelled.
On the other hand the trains whose routes were diverted were – Visakhapatnam- Amritsar Hirakund Express will be run through diverted route via Vijaywada- Titalagarh – Sambalpur. The Secunderabad- Kamakhya Express on Friday will be run via Kazipet- Ballarshah- Nagpur – Jharsuguda route.
The railway administration has also made changes into the timings of some of the trains towards Andhra Pradesh and Odisha due to Feni Cyclone, so that there is no threat to life of the people going towards it. It is notable here that the Feni Cyclone which struck Odisha coast has caused heavy damage to property and nature and its clear-cut assessment is yet to be made.
