Home and Jail Minister reviews departmental work

State Home and Jail Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu made a detailed review of the work of Home, Jail, Nagar Sena and Sainik Welfare Department at his Raipur residence office. He inspected all the jails of the state and inquired about cleanliness in barracks, capacity of prisoners, health test of prisoners and CCTV installed. The Minister instructed the Additional Director General of Police to take stock of all the necessary arrangements including cameras, drinking water, kitchens and submit a report of requirements.
He asked to promote commercial activities in jails such as textile weaving, furniture, sofas, greeting, printing and other decorations so that skill development of prisoners could be done. He also directed to take action with regard to the release of prisoners who have completed their sentence and the recruitment of vacant posts of class III and class IV employees in the Jail Department by the Professional Examination Board.
The Home Minister while reviewing the actions of the Municipal Army, directed to install fire safety in offices and multi-storeyed buildings, keeping in mind the possibility of floods and ensuring all necessary preparations under disaster management. He asked to identify the place to shift the fire station located at Tikrapara in Raipur.
In the meeting, the Home Minister also reviewed the works of Public Prosecution, Forensic Lab and Sainik Welfare Board and directed to expedite the disposal of cases of children and women under the POSCO Act. While reviewing the law and order, the Home Minister instructed to expedite the chit fund cases, tribal cases and political cases as per the intention of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel. He instructed to prepare the proposal for amendments in the setup, budget and vehicles as required from the Police Headquarters to the police station for the smooth functioning of departmental works and obtain approval from the Finance Department. The Home Minister instructed to seek guidance from the General Administration Department and speed up the recruitment process regarding necessary amendments showing justification in the pending recruitment process of sub-inspectors.
