DMF Council approves projects worth Rs 52 crore

Bhilai, Jul 08: The Governing Council meeting of DMF held the other day has approved the proposals for spending an amount of Rs 52 crore. Covid Combat is the top priority and an amount of Rs 5 crore has been reserved for this. A budget of about Rs 11.5 crore has been kept for education and health.
Guardian Minister Mohammad Akbar said that to fight against Covid and to strengthen the health infrastructure, the administration can utilise the funds as much as required. If needed, reduction will be made from other proposals as fighting Covid is the biggest responsibility. Agriculture and Water Resources Minister Ravindra Choubey said that Durg District Administration has done significant work to contain the infection during the second wave. “With the news of increasing infection rate in adjoining areas of Maharashtra, we should remain alert and strengthen our health infrastructure continuously. Apart from infrastructure, it also includes the training part”, he said.
Home and PWD Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu said that it is our goal to do the best work to facilitate the people. Accordingly, the departments should make innovative proposals. The works which are going on through DMF must be completed as early as possible. He added that DMF must work for sports also with emphasis on producing national players for games in which the rural population is interested. A special plan will be chalked out to develop the infrastructure. MLA Arun Vora proposed infrastructure development related to education and health. Bhilai MLA Devendra Yadav also raised these issues and concerns of the citizens of Bhilai.
Decisions were taken in the meeting to strengthen health centers. Along with this, a decision was taken on a strong framework for Covid including availability of 200 oxygen cylinders and other related materials. It was decided to strengthen the health infrastructure in areas on the north of railway lines. Decisions were also taken regarding the health centers in which the infrastructure has to be strengthened. Collector Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure presented the proposal in detail before the council and informed about the innovative initiatives of the administration. Durg MLA Arun Vora, Bhilai MLA Devendra Yadav, Vaishali Nagar MLA Vidyaratan Bhasin, District Panchayat President Shalini Yadav and other public representatives were present in the meeting. SP Prashant Agarwal, DFO Dhammasheel Ganveer, Municipal Commissioner Rituraj Raghuvanshi, Additional Collector Nupur Rashi Panna and other officers were present. Decisions have been taken regarding expanding the area of Onion cultivation. An amount of Rs 1.20 crore will be spent for arrangement of seeds etc. Fish seed farm will be constructed in village Kikirmeta.
Proposal has been approved for establishment of new English Medium Schools in Fareed nagar and Takiyapara. Along with this, funds were also sanctioned to provide coaching of NEET and JEE and competitive examinations like PSC-SSC to the meritorious students. Funds were also approved from DMF for tree plantation in a large area of Nandini. Decisions were also taken to improve stop dams and other irrigation infrastructure in the district.
