DIYA celebrates Van Mahotsav, saplings planted in school

Bhilai, Jul 11: The youth wing of All World Gayatri Parivar, Divine India Youth Association (DIYA), is observing Van Mahotsav in the month of July. Under this Mahotsav, saplings are being planted in schools. Under the joint auspices of Government Higher Secondary School Thanaud Durg and DIYA a massive tree plantation programme was organised in the premises of Government Subhash Primary School, Wambay Aawas, Urla.
The chief guest of the programme was Dr PL Sao who said that the best embellishment of Mother Earth can be tree plantation which would cover her with green shawl. He told the importance of trees in the journey of a human being from life to death, how trees not only give us air, water, fruits, flowers, and other useful things of life plant, but it is the tree which burns together and gives us freedom from life. We must plant at least 3 trees in our lifetime.
In the tree plantation programme, co-in-charge of DIYA CG Dr YK Sahu, Sharad Das Vaishnav, Pramila Valde, Lakshmi, Durpat Dhankar, Sapna, Chitrarekha, Anil Gajpal and school children together planted more than 50 fruit bearing plants such as mango, amla, guvava, jamun, Ashok, Gulmohar etc.
