District’s first Swami Atmanand English Medium Model College nearing completion
Collector inspects under-construction college in Dhanora
Bhilai, Sep 12: BSc and BCom courses will be conducted from the district’s first Swami Atmanand English Medium Model College which is being constructed with a cost of Rs 13 crore at Dhanora. The first English medium college of the district is nearing completion. After Atmanand English Medium School, Swami Atmanand English Medium College is being opened in the district. This model college is being built in Dhanora.
On Monday, Collector Pushpendra Kumar Meena inspected the site. The Collector said that English Medium College will provide quality education and for this every possible facility will be arranged here. He oversaw the infrastructure being established here. Collector gave instructions regarding the science lab. He said that the Science Lab should have all the updated facilities, apart from having a good library so that the students can get good study material. The Collector said that the contribution of scientists should also be displayed in front of all the labs. If there is a physics lab, then the achievements of scientists like CV Raman should be mentioned. There should be information about Raman Effect etc so that the students could know about such limitless possibilities in this field and how people working in the field of science have achieved international achievements. This will motivate the students, Collector said.
He said that good infrastructure for sports should also be established. There should be a facility of badminton court etc so that along with studies, the students can participate in sports activities. The college will have 17 classrooms in which 5 rooms will be for the lab and library.
The Collector said that according to the norms set by the UGC for the best colleges of the country, facilities should be arranged in this college so that the children can get the best education. District Panchayat CEO Ashwini Devangan was also present during the inspection. He directed to complete the construction work within stipulated time frame and with quality.
