Delegation of bereaved families departs for New Delhi

Bhilai, Jul 26: A delegation of the bereaved family members of the BSP employees, those who died of Covid 19, departed for New Delhi on Monday. They are going to meet the officials of Steel Ministry as well as SAIL for pressing the demand of compassionate employment for one of the dependents of the BSP employees those who died due to Covid 19.
Bhilai Shramik Sabha (HMS) General Secretary Pramod Kumar Mishra said that the dependents of the employees, officers who died due to Covid-19 are staging hunger strike since July 15.
The management is taking the demand into serious consideration due to which the resentment is on rise among the BSP employees. These families were called by the IR department only once and it was also informed to them that their memorandum has been sent to SAIL Headquarters.
Even after 12 days of hunger strike, the high officials sitting are not paying attention towards them. About 250 employees and officers have died due to this epidemic. Dependents assert that the employees were infected during the work in the plant.
More than 4000 employees, officials and dependents who were infected in the second wave of Corona had contacted the Ministry of Steel. The Ministry has called a delegation of bereaved dependents to Delhi Udyog Bhawan for discussion. A delegation has left for Delhi and the meeting is likely to be held on July 28.
