Raipur, Nov 18: Novel corona virus infection can be extremely fatal if it is not tested within 24 hours of symptoms appearing and treatment is not started. UNICEF health expert Dr. Sridhar said that when a person comes in contact with a Covid positive patient, then within the next 5 days, symptoms such as cold, fever and decreased ability to smell starts appearing.
The virus load is maximum in the person two days before symptoms appear. When he does not get symptoms, he does not know and the person in contact with him also gets infected. That is why it is very important to wear a mask while going out and keep a safe distance.
Dr. Sridhar told that those who are low in immunity, symptoms show up quickly, otherwise in 5 to 7 days, the lungs are affected creating problems for breathing, the oxygen level becomes very low with fever. Lung damage begins 5 to 7 days after developing a fever or other symptoms. Once the lungs damage, the breathing problem starts for the patient. The oxygen level decreases before the patient becomes breathless. If correct treatment is initiated at this point, many patients’ lives can be saved.
