Today, the whole world, country and region is battling the corona virus infection. Doctors, policemen, government employees, media personnel and many social organizations are working to prevent this infection. These are all corona heroes. Such people are inspiring for the whole society, who are not only protecting people’s lives, but are also making their valuable contribution towards the nation.
This was stated by Governor Ms. Anusuiya Uikey while addressing a webinar organised by Rotaract Club, Chhindwara to felicitate the Corona warriors for distinguished service in the Corona era. The Governor paid tribute to the Corona warriors who sacrificed their lives. On this occasion, Corona warriors who performed distinguished service in the Corona period were virtually honoured.
The Governor said that while working as a Rotarian, I participated in social work and many works were done for the welfare of the society. In such humanitarian work, confidence comes and a sense of leadership develops. I have been able to hold the post of Governor of Chhattisgarh in addition to various previous responsibilities, due to such actions.
The Governor, sharing her experience, said that as a Rajya Sabha member, my first address in the Rajya Sabha was to address the subject of female feticide. At that time my senior members encouraged me. After the address, the other members of Rajya Sabha and the then Chairman Late Bhairav Singh Shekhawat appreciated my address. The confidence of speaking in the Rajya Sabha, which is called the House of Scholars, came to me due to the work of human service in institutions like Rotary Club.
The Governor said that human service is indeed in the soul of our country. Since ancient times, Lord Rama-Krishna has given the message of serving only beings, while all the great men like Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi have described human service as our religion. My request is that whenever we get a chance, we should help the needy according to our ability. This is the real pleasure. These actions give us spiritual peace.
She said that I myself have been a Rotarian. Working with them in me also developed the qualities of leadership and organization capability. ‘I collaborated with the team of this club in those days in various tasks like health, social service. An organization like the Rotary Club has the potential to pioneer polio-free worldwide’. It is the result of constant dedication that today the whole world is moving towards polio free. Other officers of the Rotary Club were present on the occasion.
