Cops foil BJYM’s bid to burn CM’s effigy

Bhilai, Jun 30: On Tuesday, cops foiled an attempt made BJYM activists to set ablaze the effigy of Chief Minister here at Supela Square. Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha activists were staging demonstration against the state government over the recent incident in which a youth committed self immolation in front of Chief Minister’s residence.
Spearheading the demonstrators, BJYM Social Media Cell State Convener Jai Prakash Yadav the incidence of youth committing self immolation has exposed the insensitive attitude of the state government. The youth has suffered almost 70% burns about his body and is fighting for life at the hospital. Later, they tried to set ablaze the effigy of chief minister.
At this moment, police team swung into action and prevented the demonstrators from putting the effigy on fire. Later, Yadav demanded an explanation from the administration about the reasons for stopping them from burning the effigy. He added that few weeks ago, Congress activists had freely burnt the effigy of Prime Minister in Chhattisgarh. Then why the administration was stopping them from effigy burning. He termed this act to be murder of democracy. Nitesh Mishra, Manish Soni and activists of BJYM were present.
