Cong govt should understand grievances of MGNREGA workers, Sarpanchs: Chandravanshi

Central Chronicle News
Pandaria, May 12: Jogi Congress in the block, through social media and official communications, is repeatedly intimating the district administration to urgently take up the grievances of the MGNREGA workers who are forced to live in abject poverty since last eight months. The party has urged the district administration to immediately provide funds to the village Panchayats so that they can release the long overdue payments to MGNREGA workers.
Taking up the sufferings of the MGNREGA workers in the block, Ravi Chandravanshi, the state President of Ajit Jogi Students Union, has urged the district administration to release at least the money incurred by MGNREGA in procuring building materials for the work undertaken by them at the behest of the government.
Hitting out at the Congress government, Chandravanshi alleged that the government under its ambitious Gothan programme got the construction done under MGNREGA work by threatening the Sarpanchs and Panchayat Secretaries of suspension if they fail to get the Gothans built, and now they (administration) are not making any payments saying that it will be made by the government.
With the payments not being made to the suppliers since last eight months, the Panchayat Secretaries are now being forced to face a harrowing time as the suppliers have now started abusing them for not clearing the payments.
Further criticising the government, Chandravanshi said that under the present epidemic crisis all families are very much fearful and are in need of every single rupee.
Despite this being a known fact, Sarpanchs have not being provided with any fund for last eight months and this can only be termed as shame to humanity.
Before concluding, Chandravanshi warned that the local village Panchayats and workers will boycott work under MGNREGA progamme it their dues are not cleared immediately.
